7mm spindle

Issue

GU Ferco multipoint locks have centre case heights of either 198mm or 212mm, 70mm Centres and they require a 7mm spindle.

The longest backplate still available on a 70mm PZ handle with a 7mm spindle is 243mm.

A 243mm backplate may not be long enough to cover existing screw holes in the door.

All longer backplate handles that are still produced require an 8mm spindle.

Solution

In order to make a working longer replacement handle use a 70mm PZ handle which has a backplate of 270mm or greater.

This should cover over any existing screw holes in the door, but may require new fixing holes to be drilled.

All these handles will require an 8mm spindle. This means you will need to use a 7mm spindle and 7-8mm spindle sleeve. This will create the complete working replacement handle that fits with the gearbox’s 7mm spindle hole.
