Product Information

This Fullex XL 2+2 multipoint door lock features 3 Hooks, 2 Deadbolts & 1 Latch.

This Fullex XL Features 3 Hooks and 2 Deadbolts.

The XL was designed from the outset to offer maximum security and reliability. The XL 2+2 locks feature three hooks, with two additional deadbolts, which are located next to the hooks.

XL 2+2 multipoint door locks are available in a double gearbox only, allowing them to be used as a lift lever lock or double spindle nightlatch, depending on the way you use the spindles.

Identifying an XL lock is relatively easy. The faceplate is stamped with the Fullex logo and, once the lock is removed from the door, you'll recognise that the top corner of the gearbox is cut out, a feature that characterises the XL lock.

The rest of the XL range features a number of different locks with hooks, anti lift pins and rollers, each in a different location relative to the spindle. However, there is only one version of the 2+2 lock which features the additional deadbolts. Please check your measurements against our product specification to ensure that you have the correct lock.

Every XL lock is extendable top and bottom for maximum flexibility and when combined with Fullex high security shoot bolts, the XL door system is fully capable of meeting PAS24 requirements.

The Fullex XL 2+2 lock uses the same gearbox as a standard XL lock. Gearboxes measure 227mm high by the backset + 15mm. These gearboxes attach to their strips with three equidistant screws. The middle screw is 108mm from the top, which is also 108mm from the bottom screw.

These gearboxes all feature a hook which throws upwards. The hook is manufactured from Dacromet coated A3 sintered steel and is approximately 23mm high.

XL gearboxes also feature a snib on the faceplate that can be used to hold back the latch.

Fullex XL 2+2 hooks are made from chrome plated A3 hardened cast steel. Each outer hook is accompanied by an additional deadbolt.

On XL locks, the top hook throws downwards, with the deadbolt situated above it. The bottom hook throws upwards with the deadbolt situated below it.

Product FAQs

How can I tell who the manufacturer is of my multipoint lock?

Check down the faceplate and look for a brand name or logo to identify the manufacturer.

How do I find out the operation of my multipoint door lock?

  • 1. If you only use the key to unlock all of the locking points then the operation is called Key Wind.
  • 2. If you lift the handle and turn the key to lock then the operation is called Lift Lever.
  • 3. If from the outside you unlock with the key, pull handle down to disengage the locking points and turn the key to open the door then this operation is called Nightlatch or Split Spindle.
  • 4. If lifting the handle fully locks the door without the use of a key then this operation is called Auto Locking.

How do I measure my multipoint door lock?

Always measure in millimetres.

  • 1. Backset – Measure the distance from the edge of the faceplate back to where the key goes into the door cylinder.
  • 2. Centres – Measure the distance from centre of handle spindle down to where the key goes into the door cylinder.
  • 3. Locking points – Measure the distance from centre of the locking point to the centre of handle spindle then repeat for other locking points.
  • 4. Faceplate – Measure the distance across the width of the face and full length of the faceplate.
  • 5. Gearbox – Measure the height and depth of the gearbox.

How do I know if my multipoint door lock is left or right handed?

99% of multipoint door locks are field reversible, instructions for which are under product information. For those models which are handed please refer to the handing chart to determine which hand you require.
