Filter out discontinued multipoint door locks
In the Multipoint Door Lock category, we have added a filter at the top called discontinued. This allows you to either filter out the discontinued multipoint door locks from the list, or only view the discontinued ones. Select 'Yes' to view the discontinued multipoint door locks, select 'No' to filter them out of your results.
Add extra cut keys to your lock
For selected products, we can cut extra keys for you. Simply select how many copy or genuine extra keys you need, add them to your basket and we will cut the keys and send them with your order. For example; if a lock comes with 3 keys but you want 5, select the extra key selector and add a qty of 2 (genuine or copy keys - you choose) then add the product to your basket. Please be aware if you increase the qty of the lock in your basket the extra keys will go up as a multiple too.
Add onto your earlier order
If you have placed an order earlier in the day, and it is not yet 7PM, you now have the option to add products onto your earlier order. When you checkout, at the top of the page, a box with a dropdown menu allows you to select from the orders you've already placed today. When you add on, you will not be charged carriage for the additional products.
Get notified when a product is back in stock
We try our best to keep our shelves well-stocked, but there may be times that products run out of stock, and we've understood how frustrating it can be. We've worked hard to find and implement a simple solution that keeps you in the loop the moment a product you've been waiting for gets new stock. Now, in one click, you can request to get an email notification for any out-of-stock product the moment new stock becomes available online.
Order status fix in order history
We have recently fixed an ongoing issue for historical orders that can be found via the My Account section in the Order History tab on our website. Previously some historical orders were displayed with the incorrect order status of "Awaiting stock" when the orders were actually complete. We are pleased to say that this issue has now been fixed and all historical orders and new orders will display the correct order status as the order proceeds through the despatch and delivery process.
3DS check issue on website resolved
We recently received reports of some users being incorrectly redirected to the basket page rather than the order complete page after going through 3DS checks with their bank portal successfully. We are pleased to announce that this issue has now been fixed and orders that require a 3DS check with their bank are now proceeding correctly through checkout to the order confirmation page.
Home page improvements
Making your duffells.com experience as immersive as possible, we have made significant improvements to our home page to display items relevant to you and your browsing behavior. Our home page now displays products you have recently viewed to give you easy access back to the products you visited on a previous search. We also display New products we've added recently to the website to keep you up to date with our latest product offerings. Also, scroll down the page a little further to view our latest blog articles, we're posting some really informative content, check-in here every week to read the latest.
We have streamlined our checkout. Previously our checkout went through 2 different pages and we felt we could make improvements to the user experience by adjusting the layout and by keeping the checkout on 1 page. As a result, the checkout is simpler, quicker, and easier to follow. You can easily select between LOCKer or standard delivery, choose the address you want your order delivered to, select the delivery method to suit, enter your purchase order reference, enter your delivery instructions, and checkout using 'Pay by card' or for our customers with credit accounts 'Pay by account'
Page load speed enhancements
After in-depth analysis, we have worked on improving the speed at which our pages load. We understand that when a page loads slowly, it can be incredibly frustrating as a user and you may feel like giving up. That's why we focused on improving our page load speed as a matter of priority, We are pleased to say that as a result of our investigation and development solutions we have reduced our page load speed from an average of 5 seconds right down to an average of less than 1 second.
We've extended our cut off time for last orders on Duffells.com
We have extended our cut-off time for last orders on duffells.com to 7 pm for same-day despatch Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays). We understand that our customers require their parcel as quickly as possible and they need adequate time to be able to collate their order and place the order with us. This fueled our decision to work with our couriers and restructure our warehouse logistically and enabled us to offer this later cut-off time on weekdays to our customers. Whilst restructuring, we also discovered for orders placed with DHL, we can offer a cut-off time of 2 pm on Saturdays for delivery Monday.
New and improved search bar on duffells.com
We understand that finding the part you need must be as quick a process as possible. We felt our search bar was an area where we could really assist our customers to find the product they need. So, we decided to improve our search bar facility and now our search displays a huge range of relevant results automatically, whilst listing the most relevant products to your search term top of the list. Now you can search by SKU, brand name, product type, measurement, finish... pretty much whatever you like and our search will deliver the results you need.
New distribution hub located in Leamington Spa
We are very proud to announce that, today, we are opening our second warehouse in Leamington Spa in Warwickshire. Croydon will remain our headquarters but we recognised the need for more space and to be more centrally located to meet the needs of all of our customers in the UK and Ireland. The extra warehouse gives us many opportunities for stock, services and improvements which we are excited to tell you all about. We planned to keep the launch relatively low key in the current climate and because we’d rather you experience the benefits than us tell you about them. In fact, you may not even notice at first, but we are working very hard in the background to improve our service to ensure that you can get your stock when you need it. We have made some huge improvements which we will tell you about in the coming weeks.
