Product Information

Fullex SL16 gearboxes are available in 35mm, 45mm and 55mm backsets and all feature a split spindle to allow them to be used as a lift lever or split spindle nightlatch function.

All SL16 gearboxes feature a 68mm centres (PZ) measurement. This is only found on Fullex locks (the FULCCA also has this measurement). The overall case height is 194mm. The case width is the backset + 15mm. The latch is 27mm high, the deadbolt is 32mm high and the distance between the bottom of the latch and the top of the deadbolt is 65mm.

SL16 gearboxes come with fixing tabs at the top and the bottom of the gearbox. These measure 15mm wide by 9mm deep. The lugs are 11mm wide. The case attaches to the faceplate with screws at the top and bottom which measure 206mm apart.

Operation: Lift lever or split spindle

Latch reversal: Undo the screw in the latch to remove it. Reverse and reinsert then replace the screw.

Nightlatch Reversal: The lock is supplied as a lift lever function, it is fitted with a travel pin on the surround of the spindle hole. This must be broken in order to convert to a split spindle function.

To break the travel pin, simultaneously lift the outside handle up and the inside handle down, you should hear the crunching noise of the pin breaking.

The split spindle function is now activated and with the spindles set into the correct position the latch will now only open via the key from the outside and by the handle from the inside.

The follower of a Fullex lock is split into 3 parts, Using a Genuine Fullex Split Spindle(our part number SPLITSPIN), the longer spindle must go on the inside and should overlap 2 parts, the shorter spindle is to be
placed on the outside and should only engage with the first part.

To lock the door

1. On closing the door, the latch is automatically engaged.

2. Lift the handle up to engage the additional locking points.

3. Throw the deadbolt and lock the system by turning the key (on some brands, the deadbolt will be thrown by lifting the handle).

To unlock the door

1. Unlock the system by turning the key.

2. Push the handle downwards to disengage the locking points.

3. A further quarter turn of the key will retract the latch.
